The Day the Buildings Fell

Bad men died and people cried
for the heros with hearts of gold...
Some of them young
some of them old.
As mothers watched while babes they
did rock...
Firemen daddies, police mommies
climbing to the top.
Families listen on the phone
to loved ones they want to be at home.
One man has a certain goal
the last words heard were
"Let's Roll"
Pray for the ones that gave

their lives
For the husbands, children and the wives.
Remember this day and always tell
This was the day the buildings fell.

Making Memories at Woodchuck's Fine Furniture in Jacksonville, Florida

What’s New… Our September 8th Event!!
It is over 90 degrees outside in Jacksonville, Florida, but we're ready to get in the mood for the Holiday Season! Perhaps if we envision a cooler time of year it will help with our current state of mind.

The kiddies are back in school and as parents, we can finally take a few deep breaths, relax and quietly prepare for the up and coming season.
Holidays are such a wonderful season for family visits, creating memories, and just enjoying good company. Here at Woodchuck's Furniture and Decor we are getting in the spirit. All of our fall home décor is here! Believe it or not we are diligently working on all of our Christmas displays as well. As most of our regular customers know, we start early, but we really go all out with our Christmas trees and Christmas home décor.

We are preparing for our third annual holiday decorating workshop. It will be held Thursday evening, September 8th and will begin at 7:00 p.m.. The free classes are filling up quickly so call us today at 904-880-0090 and reserve your spot today. It is a lot of fun and a good time to absorb new holiday decorating techniques. We want everyone’s holiday season to be a joyous one, so come on in to our Jacksonville, Fl Woodchuck's Furniture store and get inspired!

Decorating with Dogs

1. Bare floors, without carpet or throw rugs, can give a nice open airy feeling to a room.

2. Paw prints and nose smudges on glass doors and windows break up glare and soften the light in a room.

3. Dog crates, when stacked three high, can add height to a room and pull the eye up. Cats love to inhabit the upper crates, leaving the lower ones for the dogs.

4. Old towels and blankets thrown casually on upholstered furniture can add a wonderful homey, country-quilt look to an otherwise bland room.

5. Common smooth upholstery fabrics can look almost velvety when lightly textured with pet hair.

6. Kennels placed end to end and topped with plate glass can create an unusual coffee table, one your friends will really remember.

7. Doggie beds, randomly placed around a room, can add color and texture, much as throw pillows do.

8. Shredded or chewed books and magazines send a message to guests that they are free to relax and feel at home.

9. Dog crates can make versatile end tables, and can be slip covered to match any room decor.

10. There is absolutely nothing that makes a guest feel as welcome as a friendly dog hopping in his lap as soon as he sits down.

"Animals are such agreeable friends. They ask no questions, they pass no criticisms"
-George Elliot
